Holly Martin is a stained glass artist and painter living in Oxford, Michigan. A retired electrical engineer, Martin’s art draws on her experience in this discipline: Her glass crafting allows her artist side to fuse with her engineer’s side. The result is original, whimsical art inspired by color and geometric shapes.
Color, shapes and nature merge together to create Holly’s unique artistic vision from concept to finished product. Working with glass in two and three-dimensional formats allows her to experiment with texture and form, and to explore how light reflects differently on different formats.
The stained glass pieces she creates range from panels - small to large - as well as a variety of three dimensional creations including diverse items ranging from jewelry boxes to candle holders, sun catchers, and large spice racks. As an artist, Ms. Martin is constantly experimenting with and innovating various kinds of stained glass art work, adding to the range of pieces she creates.
Holly also draws inspiration from nature, and many of her designs feature leaves, insects, animals, and flowers. When she’s not making art, Holly is a wife and mother of three. She loves spending free time with her husband and kids, and enjoys horseback riding and travel.
